Originally focused on dyes and organic pigments, ORIGO expanded its activities to inorganic pigments, binders for coatings, active ingredients and advanced intermediates for the pharmaceutical industry.

The introduction of the REACH Regulation in 2008 strengthened the company’s regulatory expertise and earned the trust of multinational leaders in several chemical sectors.

History

Three generations, one shared direction

1952

The beginning

Fritz Kahlberg founds ORIGO as a representative of Chemapol, a foreign trade company exporting chemical products and raw materials from Czechoslovakia.

Second generation

Paolo Kahlberg

After the fall of communism, Paolo Kahlberg takes over the company, retains its specialities and establishes a partnership with Ostacolor for Synthesia and Spolchemie dyes.

1998

The third generation

Michela Kahlberg takes the lead and continues the family business, progressively expanding its relationships with multinational leaders in the chemical industry.

2008

Regulatory expertise

With the introduction of the REACH Regulation, ORIGO develops significant regulatory expertise. Kahlberg Consulting is established as a specialist in chemical regulations.
